Not sure if the networks passed on the Zombieland TV series or what, but it looks like Amazon has snatched up the double tapping crew for their instant video service. Zombieland was both a commercial and a cult success, a rare feat in the business, so there’s sure to be some cash in the property.
There’s been rumors of a movie sequel since the 2009 comedy horror Zombie flick’s original release. But it looks like episodic television will be it’s undead landing spot. I’m assuming we’ll see about ten episode seasons, similar to HBO programming or the way Netflix is planning to release Arrested Development.
Zombieland was originally pitched as a TV series before making the leap to film. So there should be some original stories to be told.
The TV adaptation of Zombieland plans to bring back Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin characters, Tallahassee, Columbus, Wichita and Little Rock, respectively.
