Will Harvey Keitel be Steve Carell’s Replacement On ‘The Office’?!?!

E! has an exclusive on who may step in to to feel Steve Carell’s role on The Office at the end of this season. In a conversation with Office executive producer/writer Paul Lieberstein, who also plays HR rep. Toby Flenderson, said that Harvey Keitel would be great for the part and that, “He’s probably the only guy who can do it, and he’s doing TV now.”
But Lieberstein also said “I haven’t started any talks with his people, but Harvey would do a great job—a very different energy. And we don’t want to bring in another Michael, having someone play a very similar character because we have such a high regard for Steve.”
And for Keitel’s backstory, “He’s an old salesman who thought he could retire and the stock market went down, and he has to come out of retirement to work for a few years.”
I would love to see Keitel come in, play a badass, as he does, and clean the office up. This would be a great idea and would send the show in a refreshing new direction. I hope they can lock Keitel down for the role.
