The Hangover 3 better make a lot of money when it hits theaters in 2013 as THR is reporting that, Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis and Ed Helms are asking for $15 million each (against backend) to reprise their roles, and they are likely to get it.

For the first Hangover film, the threesome were paid under a $1 million dollars each (the actors did receive an additional million dollar bonus from WB after the film’s success). At the time, nobody expected the film which was made for a mere $35 million to gross $467 million worldwide. Then Cooper, Galifianakis and Helms earned a cool $5 million a piece, plus back end deals for The Hangover Part II which grossed $581 million worldwide.

Since the studio had no idea The Hangover would eventually become the highest grossing R rated film of all time the actors were never locked into agreements to make sequels. Which caused the negotiations for The Hangover Part II to became quite heated. And it looks like negotiations for the The Hangover 3 are headed in the same direction although a source says it’ll happen because “It’s a proven commodity, which is rare these days.”

The Hangover 3 will be set in Los Angeles and will be helmed by Hangover 1 and 2 director Todd Phillips. Apparently the franchise is leaving the forgotten-debauchery formula of the first movies for a more traditional story. The film may start shooting this summer for a Memorial Day 2013 release.
