According to Deadline Paramount has hired the Iron Man writing team, Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, for close to $1 million to revamp Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for a live action feature film to be released in summer 2012.

Nikki Finke from Deadline also quotes a source saying “The studio is looking at this as its next huge franchise, like Transformers.”  Which makes since as Michael Bay’s, Andrew Form’s, and Brad Fuller’s Platinum Dunes is producing along with the Turtles original producers Scott Mednick, Galen Walker, and Maria Norman.

So the question is, Do we really need another franchise like Transformers? Some who know me might think I would say no. But my opinion is Hell Yeah!!! A lot of these summer movies are the biggest let down, but are they not also the most exciting part of the year, film-wise? So bring on the big action, crappy dialog and the hottest girls you can find, cause I’m in baby!!!
