Summit develops ‘Push’ TV series. But Why?

Summit Entertainment, the production company responsable for Twilight and the critical darling The Hurt Locker is moving to television by turning the not so successful Push into a television series. the series will expand on characters introduced in the film and continue the fight against an evil government agency. Screenwriter of Watchmen and two of the X-Men movies (not Wolverine), David Hayter will write the script the series pilot.
Push only made about $50 million at the box office last year and the story was quite muddled but with Hayter penning the screenplay I think the series could be a success. If you can get a story off on the right foot it could thrive for years. Plus with Heroes and Smallville winding down in the next year or so, there will be a void in the superhero market.
