Star Trek The Next Generation The Best of Both Worlds Picard

Star Trek: The Next Generation The Best of Both Worlds coming to theaters all over the country. In a special one night only showing, the Borg will kidnap and assimilate Captain Jean-Luc Picard, the greatest captain since Kirk himself.

Yesterday it was announced via Startrek.com that CBS Home Entertainment and Paramount will release two new high-definition Blu-ray collections: Star Trek: The Next Generation: Season Three and Star Trek: The Next Generation: The Best of Both Worlds. The Best of Both Worlds has been cut together as a 90-minute feature. But unfortunately there was no word of a theatrical release.

Star Trek The Next Generation The Best of Both WorldsBut lucky for us, Flickchart did a little digging and found that Cinemark websites are selling tickets to Star Trek: The Next Generation – The Best of Both Worlds for one showing only at participating theaters. Cinemark has the runtime set 120 minutes, probably due to a half hour “Look Behind-the-Scenes” that will run with the film.

This was a pivotal episode in the Star Trek world and it is going to be amazing to experience on the big screen. Things got a little darker after the Borg took Picard. And a little better all around. The Best of Both Worlds was also major inspiration for First Contact. By far the best film in The Next Generation film series. And argubly the best Star Trek film yet, including J.J. Abrams revamp.

The Best of Both Worlds will hit theaters on April 25, 2013. It’s a special one show event so make sure you get your tickets early. Click here to go directly to the Cinemark home page to buy your Star Trek: The Next Generation – The Best Of Both Worlds tickets.
