Variety is reporting that Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman have signed a three-year deal to develop new shows for 20th Century Fox starting this March. The deal means the duo will develop, create and hire talent for new shows for Fox. Orci and Kurtzman, who often collaborate with J.J. Abrams, are the team behind last summer’s box office smash but critical dud Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and the super bad ass Star Trek revamp. The team also wrote the script for Jon Favreau’s 2011 sure to be great Cowboys and Aliens film and is working on the Star Trek sequel. And on the TV side, the pair are already overseeing CBS revamp of Hawaii Five-O series. Sounds like a lot on their plate but overall I think these two understand pop culture and how to take us on a great ride, so good deal for us.
