According to Heat Vision, Rosamund Pike is in final negotiations to play Andromeda in the Clash of the Titans sequel. Last week it was reported that the former bond girl was up for a role in Zack Snyder and Christopher Nolan’s new Superman: Man of Steel film, but it looks like Pike chose a different path.

Pike will step into the role played by Alexa Davalos (who was unavailable) in the first Clash of the Titans film. The Clash of the Titanssequel will begin filming next months with Battle: Los Angeles director, Jonathan Liebesman at the helm. The sequel is tentatively titled Wrath of the Titans but that could change.

Pike stepping into the Andromeda role is a big movie toward her mainstream Hollywood success. She got her big break in Die Another Dayopposite Pierce Brosnan. Since then she has shown up in several critically praised indi films but has had a hard time taking her career to the next step. It’s said that the Andromeda role is major, so Pike will get quite a bit of screen time.

Pike will join Sam Worthington (Perseus), Gemma Arterton (Io), Liam Neeson (Zeus) and Ralph Fiennes (Hades) who are all attached to reprise their roles. The  Clash of the Titans sequel is set for a March 30, 2012 release.
