According to Deadline, it looks like any “controversy” resulting from Gervais’ comments during the last Golden Globes has been forgiven, or it was never an issue in the first place. Gervais says “The organisers asked me to consider a third year. I don’t think I should. I don’t know what I could do better. I certainly couldn’t get more press for them, that’s for sure”. Seems like the organizers have decided that people want to watch something funny. Plus, they probably decided that all the publicity was great. Can you imagine the lead up to it next year with Gervais? “Who is he going to embarass this year”? “What will he say?”. I didn’t watch the Globes this year, but if he comes back next year, you can guarantee I will be watching next year.
