After Mel Gibson was given the boot from his cameo role in The Hangover 2, Varietyis reporting that Liam Neeson stepped in to play the tattoo artist in Thailand. I like Neeson, and he’ll probably do a good job, but the whole Gibson thing is still annoying.

Neeson says he was invited to take the cameo role via his “A-Team” co-star Bradley Cooper, who stars in “The Hangover Part II” along with Zack Galifianakis.

“I just got a call to do a one day shoot on ‘Hangover 2’ as a tattooist in Thailand, and that’s all I know about it,” Neeson told Daily Variety. “I just laughed my leg off when I saw ‘The Hangover, I was shooting in Berlin earlier this year and rented it on the hotel TV.”

Neeson flew out to the set Thursday from his home in New York and filmed his seen Sunday.

The Hangover 2 is set for release on May 26.

I think its an improvement. Neeson is awesome… And he says things like “I just laughed my leg off”.

    2. Connor says:

why would mel even be in it in the first place? sure i liked patriot and braveheart, but with his recent unpopularity with lots of people, mel doesnt really fit the hangover “style”. mel in hangover 2 would be like tom cruise in tropic thunder. (why was he?) tom isnt that funny. his bit in tropic thunder annoyed me.

whereas liam is just a stud. les miserables, star wars, taken, ateam, the guy is awesome. im 100% ok with this change.

    3. Joseph says:

I love Liam Neeson and think he will do great, but I don’t see why they wanted Mel then changed their minds.

I think a really good point is made there.

As for Tom in Tropic Thunder…oh my gosh he was hilarious! I can’t understand how you didn’t love him, and his more recent success could even be attributed to that role.

    4. Seth Quillen says:

Yeah, Cruise was awesome and they got rid of Gibson cause the cast is being little bitches.

Let’s pretend Gibson was in the film. Right after the hangover 2 came out and he was awesome everyone would want him in their movie.

If you think high school was all about fitting in and being cool, you have no idea how desperate the people in Hollywood are trying to be popular and trendy.

    5. Connor says:

I think you have a valid point Joe (with that link). In the world of Hollywood I guess one or two slip ups really kills your “popular and trendy” status as Seth says, and thats too bad. While i dont agree with some of Mels recent things, in the past he has been a favorite. As i said, Braveheart, and Patriot are some of my favorite movies. I wish Mel would crank out things like that again. But with his “status” I bet that will be hard. But I stick to what I said. I think Liam is better. Probably cuz I like him more. And I am still annoyed with that Cruise Tropic Thunder bit…
