The New York Post is reporting that Mel Gibson will make a cameo in Todd Phillips, The Hangover 2, which is currently filming. Their source confirmed that,

“It’s a done deal. Mel will make a cameo as a tattoo artist. Filming is taking place on the Warner Bros. lot, where a Bangkok set has been built, and Mel is expected to film his role in two weeks. Then the production moves to Thailand at the end of October.”

The Hangover grossed $467 million worldwide and did good by Mike Tyson who made a cameo in the 2009 film. Tyson had a barrage of bad PR moments (like Gibson) but is now on much better ground across the entertainment spectrum. The question is, will people forgive Gibson if he can make us laugh again? I think so.

The Hangover sequel follows the gang, played by Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zack Galifianakis and Justin Bartha, on a trip to Thailand with a dangerous stop in Bangkok. Asian and often naked gangster Mr. Chow (Ken Jeong), will also return. Sadly, Ed Helms stripper wife, played by Heather Graham will not be back.

Gibson next stars in Jodie Foster’s The Beaver, which does not yet have a release date.
