For those who don’t know a little over a year ago Joaquin Phoenix supposedly left the movie business to become a rapper. All while brother-in-law Casey Affleck followed him around with a camera to document Phoenix’s transformation to a Hip Hop musician. And maybe the process of growing that rats nest of a beard.
So anyway, after much speculation as to what was really going on, it turns out that after many months of eccentric and bizare behavior that Phoenix was indeed doing what he does best.. acting.
Deadline is reporting that the Affleck’s film was screened last week to potential buyers and that it is in fact a mock/documentary. Harvey Weinstein was among the buyers and like others in attendance were sworn to secrecy. The film will be kept under wrap as best possible and is not expected to play at any festivals to allow for maximum shock value.
And remember that crazy Letterman appearance.

Brilliant!!! I watched it today and honestly felt embarrased for his behavior. I could not believe it was real – so much so that I had to Google him tonight. The movie stuck with me all day long. I kept thinking – he was so hot – I would watch movies that I didn’t really know just because his name was in the credits – Actually just like this movie…..I was shocked by the whole movie – I felt physically sick… … but I am so glad it is not real… Absolutely Brilliant!!!!! I believed it.
