‘Game Of Thrones’ Helmer Steps In To Direct ‘Thor 2’

According to Deadline Game Of Thrones Helmer, Alan Taylor has stepped in to fill the shoes of director Patty Jenkins who recently left the Thor sequel. Taylor has some pretty good TV credits under his belt which include such critically acclaimes shows as Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire and Nurse Jackie. Marvel Studios had originally set Jenkins as the director of Thor 2, but she left over differences in the production.

Chris Hemsworth will return as as the hammer-wielding superhero, from a script by Thor co-writer Don Payne. No word yet if Natalie Portman will return. Thor 2 of course will happen after The Avengers film which hits theaters this summer. The Avengers is a superhero extravaganza will see the characters Iron Man, Hawkeye, Thor, Captain America, The Hulk, Nick Fury and Black Widow team up to fight the super villain Loki, from last years Thor.

Thor 2 is currently set to open in theaters on November 15, 2013.
