Remember the great identical twins who played the Winklevoss brothers in the The Social Network? Well you might be surprised to learn that they were not actually twins, in fact they weren’t even brothers. In actuality, Tyler Winklevoss was played by Josh Pence opposite Armie Hammer’s Cameron Winklevoss but you only saw Hammer’s face as it was superimposed onto Pence’s body in the film.
I always felt little bad for Pence, who’s “big breakthrough” performance literally got zero recognition for the role. So now I’m quite happy to tell you, Heat Vision is reporting that Mr. Pence has been cast as a young Ra’s Al Ghul in Christopher Nolan’s final Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises.
Heat Vision’s source says Pence will appear in scenes that take place 30 years prior to the present story. And while The Dark Knight Rises plot is being kept super-secret, Pence’s casting as the young Ra’s Al Ghul Could mean the return of Liam Neeson who played the elder Ra’s Al Ghul and one time mentor to Bruce Wayne in Batman Begins.
Along with Bale, Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman are returning for the third and final installment in Nolan’s Batman franchise. Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard will also star in the film. Cotillard is rumored to play the character of Talia Al Ghul, the daughter of Ra’s.
