According to Deadline, Christopher Nolan has come up with a short list of potential directors for the next Superman film. While Nolan famously resurrected the Batman franchise to heights of quality never before seen in a superhero film, he has chosen to merely produce Superman: Man of Steel.

Nolan’s short list includes Jonathan Liebesman (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, Battle: Los Angeles and for Clash of the Titans 2, still in preproduction), Matt Reeves (Cloverfield, Let Me In), Duncan Jones (Moon, Source Code), Tony Scott (True Romance, Unstoppable), and Zack Snyder (Watchmen, 300).

All these director have a completely different style, some better than others, but I”m not worried, Nolan has not let me down yet.

Christopher Nolan and David Goyer developed the story while Goyer wrote the screenplay. Nolan along with Emma Thomas are producing the film which is due in theaters in 2012.
