Microsoft’s Director of Programming for Xbox Live, Larry Hyrb (gamertag Major Nelson) has announced that the price for Xbox Live will be going up on Novermber 1st.
The price increase moves a yearly subscription up from $49.99 to $59.99. Another $10 hardly seems like something to make a fuss about when considering how many new features have been added since the launch of Xbox Live in 2002. Read more

Multiplayer Coming to the ‘Mass Effect’ Universe?
A new job listing on the Electronic Arts Website suggests that BioWare will be adding multiplayer to the Mass Effect franchise.
The listing calls for someone to take Mass Effect’s “existing single player user experiences and make them multiplayer safe.” I would assume this is in reference to adding multiplayer in Mass Effect 3, as opposed to an expansion for Mass Effect 2. Read more

Legendary Pictures has picked up rights to Mass Effect, the Electronic Arts-BioWare video game. `Killzone 3′ to be in 3D
Gamespot is reporting that the sequel to Sony’s well received Killzone 2, developed by Guerrilla Games will be released in 3D. Sony is planning to update all PS3s to support stereoscopic 3D later this year with a firmware update.
This is especially significant since the second title in the Killzone franchise saw great success, this may be the first hit game to go 3D. 3D gaming, much like movies until recently, has been gimmicky or without purpose. Avatar, though it does not deserve ALL the credit, was able to show how 3D can be used in film to make for a superior viewing experience. Could Killzone 3 do the same for video games? Read more
Gameplay Preview of APB
1up has a video preview of the upcoming XBOX 360 Cops and Robbers MMO, APB, from developer Realtime Worlds.
APB(All Points Bulletin) features what is easily the most extensive character customization a game has ever seen. One of my very favorite games, Mass Effect, features a very detailed customization process, but it pales in comparison to the features included in APB. In addition to characters, players will be able to add custom decals to their vehicles, similar to the Forzagames. The video also gives us a glimpse of how missions will function and what the gameplay will look like.

Producer of Iron Man and Hulk(2008) Talks about ‘Uncharted’ Film Script
Ari Arad, producer for the upcoming “Uncharted” movie, based off the action-adventure game of the same title for Play Station 3, says in the June issue of GamePro that the script has gone “into overdrive” following the success of the second installment in the franchise.
Arad goes on to say that the movie will closely follow the story of the games, but with more focus on the dialogue and bringing the characters to life for the big screen.
A director for the movie is yet to be announced, but rumors point to David O. Russell, director of I heart Huckabees, Three Kings, and Flirting With Disaster.
Please don’t butcher this one. Uncharted is a masterpiece.
