Carl Urban to Star in J.J. Abrams’ Upcoming Sci-Fi Series ‘Human’

'Star Trek' Premiere In Berlin 2 (USA AND OZ ONLY)Earlier this year it was announced that J.J. Abrams would team up with J.H. Wyman to create a futuristic buddy cop TV series that features human police officers partnered with androids. Details are slowly coming forth about the prodution and we now know who the leading man will be.

Karl Urban will play the lead, John Kennex, who now how emotional issues in his line of work after a tragic incident left him critically injured. He will team up with Dorian (Michael Ealy), an android that now seems to have a better grip on humanity than Kennex.

Urban reprises his role as Leonard “Bones” McCoy in this summer’s Star Trek Into Darkness and we will also see him in Riddick later this year.

Wyman, who previously worked with Abrams on Fringe, has been tapped to write the series. Human will also star Mackenzie Crook, Michael Irby, Minka Kelly and Lili Taylor. A date for the pilot has not been announced.
