Bryan Singer Announces casting of ‘Game of Thrones’ Star Peter Dinklage in ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’
Via his twitter, Bryan Singer confirmed rumors that Peter Dinklage, best know for his Emmy and Golden Globe winning performances as Tyrion Lannister in the HBO hit, Game of Thrones, will play a key role in the upcoming X-Men film.
Dinklage will be joining what is already an ensemble cast featuring returning stars from First Class and several from the X-Men Trilogy. Patrick Stewart, Ellen Page, Anna Paquin, and Ian McKellen are all confirmed to be in this sequel/prequel/reboot/parallel/thing.
This leaves us wondering how much screen time each of this characters will get. Most of them are already developed characters from prior films so they should be able to skip or simplify the character introductions. Will Singer be able to find the right balance with such a massive cast? Will some characters only have brief cameos? All I know is that I feel like watching Back to the Future.
Singer is returning to direct another X-Men movie for the first time since X2: X-Men United. It seems that he is looking to redeem his almost trilogy after the catastrophe that was X-Men: The Last Stand, and he just might succeed.
X-Men: Days of Future Past is set to release July 18, 2014.
