Principal photography of Atlas Shrugged: Part 2 began yesterday and the producers were kind enough to provide us with some production photos via their facebook page.

Despite the fact that the first the first film grossed just under $5 million the producers are apparently moving forward with the sequel as planed. Many of the actors who portrayed the main characters however are not returning. A little disappointing and it almost never works except for maybe the Lonesome Dove series. Here are the photos.

Ayn Rand’s 1,100 page novel is being produced by Atlas Productions as a trilogy which follows the three part structure of the bestselling book. Part 1 was released theatrically on April 15, 2011. Part 2 is set to be in theaters October 2012 amidst what is sure to be a fever pitched presidential election season.

Atlas Shrugged: Part 2 is being directed by John Putch and stars J.P. Manoux, Kim Rhodes and Richard T. Jones.
