’24′ Has Been Cancelled

It’s official, the program that made Fox Television a power house is ticking down to its final episode. Officially Fox cancelled ’24′ citing an increasing budget for the cause but I think there were other issues at play as well.
After a mediocre and preachy 7th season featuring the always annoying Janeane Garofalo as the anti-CTU and alienating its core fans, I knew it was coming. The 8th season is back on track and I think good again but I just don’t think they have been able to gain back the lost audience and maybe more important the lost excitement around the show.
With the possibility of a movie still in the distant future the terrorist can relax and start planning our demise but don’t get too comfortable because Kiefer Sutherland (Jack Bauer) is ready to go whenever the studio gets around to it.
I would love to see to see a movie version of ’24′ but I would hope they would drop the time ticking shtick but also keep to the spirit of the show. (Deadline)

When will Hollywood realize that anti-american rhetoric in movies and TV kill the box office and ratings? Seems like people who are so materialistic would be able to do the math on this.
