Top Videogames of 2009: PS3
PLAYSTAION 3 is still lacking a big library of exclusives, but it definitly had a solid year. Here are my picks for the PS3.
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
THIS GAME IS AWESOME. Go buy it? Yes. And don’t hesitate. Really. This is one of the very best action adventure games in history. With the addition of a very fun multiplayer no PS3 owner should be without it.
Killzone 2
A solid single player story with a deep multiplayer experience. The visuals are simply stunning and this is one of the most well refined games available on the system.
Assassin’s Creed II
The original was a good game, this is a great game. It is better than the original in every way and has a stronger sense of focus preventing you from growing bored with the now very enjoyable open world. Read more
Harold Ramis Plans “Ghostbusters 3″ Shoot For Next Summer
After years of rumors going back before The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Ramis is finally bring Ghostbusters back to the screen. I’m excited to see who gets slimed next!!! Read the story at Heeb: HQ
Disney’s Marvel Purchase Complete
Disney completed its $4.24 billion acquisition of Marvel Entertainment Inc today. I fully support this. There are more than 5000 characters in the Marvel universe. I’m excited to see what heros and villians Disney puts on the screen.
Top Videogames of 2009: XBOX 360
After an amazing two years for XBOX games, this was not exactly a banner year for XBOX 360, with several big titles being pushed to next year. However, cross-platform titles really shined on the system with a few great exclusices. These are my top five games.
Assassin’s Creed II
The original was a good game, this is a great game. It is better than the original in every way and has a stronger sense of focus preventing you from growing bored with the now very enjoyable open world.
Batman: Arkham Asylum
Simply put this is the best comic book videogame every made. An excellent story that feels like it is part of the Batman canon with undeniably fun game play. Top it off with great voice acting and a score that really sets the mood. You will love this game.
Halo 3: ODST
Hey, I’m a sucker for halo and this game changed Halo to give it a new feeling while staying true to the others in the series. With a great campaign and a new co-operative mode similar to Horde in Gears of War 2, this game will hold your interest for weeks. Read more
Now Sir Patrick Stewart
Another worthy man was made a knight today. And a personal favorite of mine. Sir Patrick Stewart. I would have knighted him for his performance in Extras alone. Watch here
I Present Sir Peter Jackson
Peter Jackson has been made a knight of the New Zealand realm. An honor I strongly agree with. He has probably done more for the Kiwis in the last century than any other man or woman. He has shown the world the beauty and majesty of the great island. Congrats Peter!!! Read the story.
Kevin Smith’s “Cop Out” Of “Dicks” Movie Title
Kevin Smiths buddy cop comedy A Couple of Dicks starring Bruce Willis, Jason Lee and Seann William Scott (A great cast!) has received a name change. The new title Cop Out (trailer), seems to be a clever nod to the fact that he was pressured into changing the name. After Zack and Miri Make a Porno’s poor outing at the box office last year, I’d say it was a good decision. I know several people who skipped Zack and Miri because of the title alone. Read the story here.
New Beavis and Butt-Head Movie On The Way?
Mike Judge spoke recently with Comcast.net about a new Beavis and Butt-Head movie. He said it wont really be a sequel. I never really got into Hank of the Hill, but Office Space is be far one of my favorite comedies. There has been a growing buzz for the slacker duo ever since they’re awesome intro for Extract. The story is on Comcast.net
Michael Jackson’s Thriller is 1st Music Video in US Film Registry
It would be hard to find someone in the world unaware of Michael Jackson amazing music and otherwordly dance moves, but as far as films he never really took that leap. However with his 14 minute music video for Thriller he changed the way every video was made. So it’s great that he’s getting credit for the industry changing music “short film”. Read the story.
Pity Us Fools! Mr. T Will Not be In The A-Team Remake
In an exclusive over at Latino Review, Mr. T says that he is happy with his life giving back to the community, and turned down an offer to have a cameo in The A-Team Remake. Personally I think he looks great and could have played B.A. Baracus just as good as he did in the 80′s.
